কৃত্রিম পৃথিবী ("Synthetic Earth") - A talk about Hallucination - First MDM Act to release a full length over Bangladesh

Deathinmelody : Can you introduce yourself to the readers please?

Tanvir : My pleasure Hisham, I am Tanvir the vocals, Audio Engineer and the producer of the band.  Hallucination was formed in March 2010. At first we were a thrash metal band we covered Megadeth and Lamb of God. If I can recall properly after 6-7 months of formation we found out that Melodic Death metal represents of who we are.  Our First Single “Dhikkar”was released on 25th November 2011 in a band mixed album called “The First Arena” and later on we released our debut album “Krittim Prithibi” on 21st June 2013 from Incursion music which was released Digitally and then after a year the album was physically released worldwide from an International Label named Satanica Productions of New Zealand on 7th march 2014.  We had a lot of changes in the line up from the formation but we still got it going on. The band consists of Wahid Uz Zaman Turjo on Bass, Tushar and Raied on Guitars, Hasan on Keyboards and Synths, Rakil Alam as a guest drummer and Mushfiq as our manager and lyricist.

Deathinmelody: As we know Hallucination is a melodic death metal, how did you come up with this style of music?

Tanvir : Influence is a big part when anyone is about to start composing, playing and writing music. In our case Iron Maiden, Children of Bodom, Eternal Tears of Sorrow, Arch Enemy and Kamelot heavily influenced us. When we started Hallucination the main idea was to concentrate on the melody. It didn’t matter if we are a heavy metal, grunge rock or even progressive rock later in the coming years from the formation. Thus when we practiced and practiced and Practiced!!! We found that melodic death metal represents us of who we actually are.

Deathinmelody: Can you name some good melodic death metal songs that are your very favorites?

Tanvir : There are a lot of good melodic death metal songs that are our favourites but these songs that um stating below was the game changer for us.
Every Time I Die, The River Flows Frozen, Prophetian and obviously ours ha ha.

Deathinmelody: Tell us about your debut album "Kritrim Prithibi", about the success of the release and   it's contents.

Tanvir: The album Krittim Prithibi is still and will be always closest to our hearts. Making the album was a challenging one for us because we wanted to represent our emotions of the band through this album, which we did. The Album consists of 9 tracks and each and every track has its own story.  Like as in the song Shesh Juddho asks every Bangladeshis a question. The album featured some prominent musicians of our country like Foysal Ahmed Tanim aka Bass king of Shrapnel Method and Avoid Rafa, Shakil Alam of Old School and Circle of the 6th and Monowarul hoque Moni from Opodeb. We didn’t release the album physically in Bangladesh because of piracy and the most important part we don’t want to give away our hard work for free. But we did it digitally. We are really proud to say this that we are the first band in Bangladesh who has released a full-length album Digitally and the albums were purchased through Bkash, Bank Cards for those in Bangladesh. And later on it was released internationally on Itunes and other digital platforms. On the day we released the album we unveiled the album live on a national radio programme and the appreciation we got from all over Bangladesh were huge which was totally unexpected in-spite of being a Melodic Death Metal Band.  Later on after a year our album Krittim Prithibi despite of being a Bengali album it was released worldwide from Satanica Productions of New Zealand which was big achievement for us, our fans and our well wishers which I believe have pushed Bengali Melodic Death Metal a little bit further.

Deathinmelody: Can you pick up one favorite number from the album?

Tanvir: The title itself “Krittim Prithibi”

Deathinmelody: Hallucination had been inactive for a long in sense of writing materials, can you let us know the reasons for this lethargy?
anvir : It’s mainly because of me coming to abroad. As you certainly know that a band is a family if a person comes out of it doesn’t remain the same. And everyone is busy with their personal lives.  But we are writing for our next and last record and we are coming with a bang that’s for sure.

Deathinmelody: Is there any follow-up plan after the debut album?

Tanvir: We did a couple of gigs after release with a guest vocal as me (Tanvir) had to come to New Zealand for my Higher Studies In Audio Engineering And After that for the last 2 years the band went to hibernation as every one became busy with their personal lives. But we are working on next album maybe that will be our last record as Hallucination.

Deathinmelody: How do you find yourself and your sound competing with Bangladeshi audience acceptance?
Tanvir : It was literally hard when I came to New Zealand, as melodic death metal is still a new genre to our country but we got a relatively good experience  from the critics with our sound. But last year with the release of Ionic Bond’s Amavashya Lore I have a strong feeling that its gonna go way beyond and establish melodic death metal in Bangladesh.

Deathinmelody:  As we see the debut has  been on Bangla language. Are you planning to write any English tracks? any plans to stretch the materials to overseas?

Tanvir: We had one English track in out debut album namely Smile of Death. Yes we have stretched out to overseas with our debut one and we certainly will do it for the next one as well. We are recording our next one at SAE Studios New Zealand and this time Sounds are going to be way better.

Deathinmelody : Name one word that describes all Hallucination creations.

Tanvir : Melody.

Deathinmelody: Thank you for your time. We wish you and the cruising Hallucination all the best!

Tanvir : Thank You Hisham we wish the very best.
